BPOS to Office 365 Transition Checklist
MessageOps offers a simple online checklist which Administrators can follow to help ensure a smooth transition to Office 365. In addition to guiding you through the process it contains useful information and solutions not found in the standard Microsoft documentation, such as:
- How to deploy the required updates through Group Policy
- How to deploy Lync through Group Policy
- How to remove the Sign In Client from all your computers
Transition Solutions
Office 365 Client Updater
MessageOps Office 365 Client Updater is a simple application which provides administrators an automated method to deploy the recommended updates for Office 365.
Lync Install Script
If you want to deploy Lync through Group Policy, this simple VBScript will help you do it. The script first checks to see if Lync is already installed on a PC, and if it isn’t determines whether or not the PC is 32 or 64 bit. When you download the Lync installers from the Office 365 portal, you’ll probably want to give each a unique name, as by default they are both named LyncSetup.exe. To use the script you’ll just need to modify lines 9 and 11 to reflect the correct path to the .exes. Then place the script in a Group Policy startup or login script.

Blackberry Transition Script
The Blackberry Transition Script exports your existing Blackberry users from BPOS into a file format that can be imported into the new Blackberry Cloud Services with Office 365.
LiveMeeting Discovery Script
As part of the transition, you will need to eventually phase out LiveMeeting. This script will run through your user’s mailboxes and identify any future LiveMeetings to give you a sense for who is using it. It will export the results to a CSV file. The script requires the MessageOps Exchange Module, the Microsoft Online Migration Tools and an admin account with a mailbox. You must specify this username and password in the script before you run it.
