MessageOps Exchange Online Monitor allows you to monitor the health of the Microsoft Exchange Online environment and the availability of your organization’s mailboxes that reside in Microsoft Exchange Online. It performs a variety of tests to help identify and isolate problems you may be experiencing. It also records the results of all tests for performance tracking and historical analysis.

MessageOps Exchange Online Monitor Overview
This MessageOps presentation provides an overview of the operation and configuration of the Exchange Online Monitor application. Length: 10 minutes.
Overview of Tests Performed
The main screen shows the tests that are currently running, and displays the health of each test.
Mailbox Login
Verifies the program can log into the monitoring mailbox which is located on Exchange Online.
Internet Mailflow
The program logs into the Exchange Online mailbox and sends a message to a mail server
on the Internet which automatically replies to the message. When the message is received back by the Exchange Online monitoring mailbox, the round trip time is then recorded. If a reply is not received in the configured time-frame an alert is raised.
DC Response Time
The program submits a query to the Microsoft Online Domain Controllers to make sure
they are responding in a timely fashion.
Network Latency
Measures the latency between the machine running Exchange Online Monitor and the
Microsoft Datacenter.
Network Download
Detects if your organization’s Internet connection is up by downloading a file from a server
on the internet. This test helps determine if a problem lies with your network or Microsoft Online.
Bulk Login
Logs into each of your organizations mailboxes within Microsoft Online and makes sure they are available. If a configured percentage of mailboxes are not available an alert will be raised.
Each of the tests has a configurable warning and error threshold. A couple examples are shown below.
The program also keeps logs of all transactions and provides a basic daily summary report with statistics for that day. Combined with Excel, these statistics and be used to track performance over time.
